- In 2026, we proudly mark 25 years of dedicated service to Tanzanian communities. From our humble beginnings, SHIPO has grown into a beacon of hope, driving transformative projects in water and sanitation, health, education, agriculture, entrepreneurship, and climate action.
Pioneering Climate Action
- We are creating conditions for climate action by raising awareness, enhancing knowledge, introducing technologies, and providing economic incentives. By mobilizing key sectors across Njombe rural and town councils, the initiative is fostering locally tailored climate mitigation and adaptation solutions.
Empowering local entrepreneurs
- Through our SMART Centre, we empower local entrepreneurs by promoting Sustainable Market-driven Affordable Technologies (SMART). Through training, mentorship, and access to innovative water and sanitation solutions, the centre fosters business growth while improving community access to safe water.
Protecting water sources
- Water source protection ensures clean and reliable water by preventing pollution and environmental degradation. Through reforestation, catchment conservation, and proper waste management, communities can safeguard vital water supplies, ensuring sustainability and improved public health.
Improving primary education
- Through our Boresha Elimu project, we aim to enhance quality education in primary schools in Mbozi District Council, Tanzania. Targeting over 15,500 beneficiaries, the project focuses on improving community engagement, teaching quality, student attendance, and school management.
Training of Trainers
- Our Training of Trainers (ToT) program equips RUWASA Water Design Teams with essential skills to design, implement, and maintain sustainable water supply systems. This initiative enhances technical expertise, ensuring improved access to safe and reliable water for communities across Tanzania.
